The Cooperatives and SMEs (KUKM) Agency of the Bangka Belitung (Babel) Islands Province organized a special technical guidance (bimtek) session on the 2026 cooperative health assessment. Held at the UPT Balatkop UMKM building in Pangkalpinang, this activity targeted functional cooperative supervisor officers from all regencies and cities across the Babel region.
The Head of the Babel KUKM Agency, Arie Primajaya, emphasized that this agenda was designed to boost the capacity and understanding of supervisors in carrying out their duties transparently and accountably. According to him, health assessment is a crucial instrument to ensure the business continuity of cooperatives in the modern era.
Arie added that the success indicators of cooperatives no longer rely solely on the value of the Remaining Business Results (SHU). Other crucial aspects include clean governance, regulatory compliance, and robust financial management effectiveness to sustainably support the welfare of members and local communities.
On the same occasion, Yudi, a representative from the Ministry of Cooperatives along with the Babel Regional Secretariat Organizational Bureau, explained the cooperative business classification (KUK) regulations. The division of supervision objects is based on the scale of assets, self-capital, and the membership size of the respective cooperatives.
Yudi also highlighted central strategic policies, including the launch of the "Merah Putih" Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDMP/KKMP) program based on Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2025. Through continuous guidance and accelerated digitalization, the government is committed to encouraging traditional cooperatives to transform into modern business entities that are competitive in the digital market.
