JAKARTA — PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) continues to show positive performance in the motor vehicle financing sector (BSI OTO). As of the end of June 2026, the outstanding financing for this business line successfully surpassed Rp6.70 trillion, recording a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 12.40 percent while maintaining safe financing quality.

This impressive achievement is aligned with the resurgence of the domestic automotive industry. Citing data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), national wholesale car sales during the first semester of 2026 exceeded 400,000 units, growing by approximately 15.89 percent compared to the same period last year.

Retail Banking Director of BSI, Kemas Erwan Husainy, explained that public interest in Sharia-based vehicle financing continues to strengthen. He believes that the integration of financing application features into the BYOND by BSI super app platform serves as the main accelerator facilitating practical customer transactions.

In addition to digital convenience, this positive trend is driven by several external stimuli. These include government policies accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), public awareness of environmental issues, and the availability of financing options with fixed installments until maturity, which help customers manage personal cash flows more strategically.

As a strategic step forward, BSI continues to strengthen partnerships with dealer networks and actively conduct financial literacy programs across various regions. With strong business fundamentals, Indonesia's largest Sharia bank is optimistic that the consumer financing sector will continue to push forward throughout 2026.
