An official motorcycle racing event was held again in Ciamis Regency through the Kapolres Cup Mr Pully Championship Road Race Qualification. The race, centered in the Islamic Center Ciamis area on Saturday (4/7/2026), ran successfully under full police escort to ensure the safety and order of all participants and spectators.
Organized by the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) of Ciamis Regency, the event attracted 419 participants competing in 24 racing classes. This competition is not only a venue to test speed but also serves as a crucial tool for the government and authorities to nurture young racing talents so they can channel their automotive interests in a structured and professional manner.
The Chairman of IMI Ciamis Regency, Teten, emphasized that this championship is the antithesis of the disturbing phenomenon of illegal street racing. By providing a track that meets safety standards, racers are encouraged to compete sportingly without endangering the general public. In addition to the sporting aspect, this event is expected to boost the local economy through the presence of supporters from various regions.
Security synergy was led directly by the Ciamis Police Chief, Police Commissioner Alan Dahlan, involving elements of the 0613 Ciamis Military District Command (Kodim), Transportation Agency, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and Fire Department. The main focus of security included traffic management, sterilization of the track area, and ensuring the comfort of spectators at the race location.
The Chief of Ciamis Police, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant H. Hidayatullah, stated that the involvement of the National Police (Polri) is a form of support for shaping the character of a disciplined and law-abiding young generation. According to him, well-managed automotive sports can be an effective instrument in reducing illegal street racing, which has been a road safety threat in the jurisdiction of the Ciamis Police.
