President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) during a state ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026). Nanik replaces Dadan Hindayana to lead the strategic agency responsible for the sustainability of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG).
This appointment is seen as a crucial step to ensure the continuity of the government's priority program. Prior to leading the BGN, Nanik served as Deputy Head of BGN, a position that provided her with a deep understanding of operational challenges, ranging from logistics distribution to nutrition quality oversight at the grassroots level.
Nanik's educational background is considered an added value in performing her duties. As a Bachelor of Biology graduate from Jenderal Soedirman University and holding a Master of Forestry from Gadjah Mada University, she is expected to apply a science-based approach to improving public nutrition quality and reducing the national stunting rate.
Nanik's professional track record spans various fields, from journalism to the corporate sector and government. Before entering the executive circle, she served as an Independent Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) and Deputy Head I of the Poverty Alleviation Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin). Her political career began to gain prominence when she served as Deputy Chair of the Prabowo-Sandi National Campaign Team during the 2019 Presidential Election.
Regarding accountability, data from the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN) shows Nanik's net worth reaching IDR 6.3 billion, dominated by land and building assets. With no recorded debt, this wealth transparency has come into the public spotlight given that BGN manages a very large state budget. Now, Nanik's main challenge is to prove her leadership integrity in maintaining the effectiveness and governance of public funds to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources.
