The Cilegon City Government has appointed Rapih Herdiansyah as the new Commissioner of PT Pelabuhan Cilegon Mandiri (PCM), a regionally owned enterprise (BUMD) operating in the port sector. The appointment of the former journalist was based on the results of an official selection process announced in July 2026.

Rapih's career journey is unique and dynamic. He began his professional path in the press industry in 2004 as a reporter for the Fajar Banten daily newspaper (now Kabar Banten). His career in the media sector continued to rise as he was trusted as the News Division Coordinator at Banten TV, founded a local online media outlet, and established the political communication consulting agency Banten Cendekia Institute.

Not only in the media sector, the graduate with a Master's degree in Communication Studies from Mercu Buana University also has a long track record in bureaucracy and government. For nearly a decade, he served as an Expert Staff member at the Banten Provincial Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI). Rapih was even appointed to the Expert Team for a Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) for the 2019-2022 term under Muhamad Mardiono, and was actively involved in the post-pandemic national economic recovery.

In academia, the Tangerang-born man (born 1984), who is also an alumnus of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas RI), was active as a guest lecturer at several universities in Banten. Meanwhile, in practical politics, he served as Deputy Secretary General of the Central Executive Board of the United Development Party (PPP) before eventually focusing entirely on professionalism outside of party management since the end of 2025.

As Commissioner of PT PCM, Rapih emphasized his commitment to upholding the principles of Good Corporate Governance. He views the commissioner's function not as finding fault, but as a strategic partner to the board of directors in driving the growth of the BUMD. One of his primary focuses is overseeing the realization of the Warnasari Port construction to boost regional original revenue (PAD) for the welfare of the people of Cilegon.
