Bridging the needs of constituents with regional policies, Intan Permatasari, a member of the Jember Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the United Development Party (PPP) faction, held a constituency recess activity (reses) for the II Sitting Period of 2026 in Sumberbulus Village, Ledokombo District. This face-to-face meeting served as a dialogue space for residents to voice various crucial issues requiring prompt handling from the regional government.
As a legislator on Commission D, Intan emphasized that feedback from the community is essential for mapping Jember's future development direction. According to her, the active participation of residents in conveying complaints will make it easier for the government to identify priority sectors requiring immediate improvement.
During the warm dialogue session, residents put forward several priority proposals. In the health sector, the community urged for the addition of doctors at Ajung Hospital to optimize medical services, which have so far been considered suboptimal.
In addition to health, infrastructure issues also dominated the recess. Residents highlighted the urgent need to repair the Sukowiryo Bridge, which is damaged, to ensure the safety of road users and the smooth distribution of local agricultural products. Other public facility needs included the procurement of a sports field in Sukowiryo Village, the installation of public street lighting (PJU) on the route from Sumberpakem to Sumberjambe, and road paving leading to the Nurul Ali Islamic Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren), which often gets muddy during the rainy season.
Not to be overlooked, the education sector also received special attention. Residents asked the regional government to increase the quota for educational scholarships, particularly for santri and high-achieving students from underprivileged families, to ensure the future sustainability of children in the region.
Responding to these demands, Intan Permatasari reaffirmed her commitment to bringing all of these proposals to a higher policy level. She stated her readiness to fight for and escort the aspirations of the residents in the budget planning process with the Jember Regency Government executive to ensure they are realized soon.
