Honor Indonesia has decided to take a tactical step in releasing its new product lineup throughout 2026. The technology company stated that it will be more selective in bringing variations of models supporting 5G connectivity to the domestic market, a move seen as different from its strategies in previous years.

Head of Public Relations at Honor Indonesia, Aryo Meidianto Aji, explained that this decision was based on the dynamics of public purchasing power, which is currently facing economic challenges. According to him, consumers today show a more mature shopping literacy, where they tend to prioritize the functionality and durability of devices for long-term use, rather than just following the trend of 5G technology adoption.

"People today are much wiser in making choices. They no longer buy 5G phones just because of the trend, but pay more attention to the utility value and durability of the device for the future," said Aryo on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

In addition to adapting to consumer preferences, this model-narrowing strategy is also claimed to improve the company's operational efficiency. By simplifying product variations, Honor can establish healthier collaborations with distributor partners in managing supply chains and inventory. This efficiency is then allocated to provide additional benefits for customers, such as through price adjustments, bundling package offers, and cashback programs.

Honor took this strategic step after returning to revitalize the Indonesian market in 2025, after a six-year absence. Since its return, the company has not only focused on the smartphone segment through various series such as the Honor Magic V3 and the X-series lineup, but has also begun expanding its device ecosystem, which includes tablets, laptops, and lifestyle support devices (wearables) in the country's market.
