Semen Padang Group officially hosted the annual SPORTALYMPIC 2026 competition. This event serves as a showcase platform for six contingents consisting of various work units, subsidiaries, and affiliated institutions within Indonesia's oldest cement company.
Officially opened by the President Director of PT Semen Padang, Indrieffouny Indra, the event coincides with the 68th anniversary celebration of the Factory Takeover. Running until August 17, the event features six branches of competition, namely football, badminton, basketball, table tennis, Musabaqah Syarhil Quran (MSQ), and a poetry contest.
An exhibition tennis match involving active employees and retirees marked the opening of the series of activities. Finance Director of PT Semen Padang, Iskandar Z. Lubis, stated that this initiative is more than just a competition. The company aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle culture that positively impacts the productivity and happiness of all elements of the company.
This year's uniqueness lies in the naming of the six contingents, which are adapted from the raw materials of cement: Limestone, Silica, Clay, Iron Sand, Gypsum, and Pozzolan. This cross-departmental and cross-affiliate grouping was deliberately designed to foster closer collaboration between work units.
Corporate Secretary of PT Semen Padang, Win Bernadino, emphasized that SPORTALYMPIC is a strategic human resource development tool. In addition to improving physical and mental fitness, this event provides space for staff to hone managerial and leadership skills, as well as strengthen a sense of belonging toward the institution.
Not only for employees, the committee also provides an inclusive space for the Semen Padang Employees' Wives Communication Forum (FKIKSP) to participate in various sports and arts branches. With the synergy built, management hopes this event will create a more harmonious and productive work environment in the future.
