A strategic partnership between the industrial sector and the community has been re-established in Cilegon City. Several local entrepreneurs in Gunung Sugih Sub-district, Ciwandan District, welcomed PT Asahimas Chemical's (ASC) commitment to involving local residents in this year's periodic factory maintenance project (annual shutdown).
This collaborative agreement was reached during a coordination meeting that also inaugurated the formation of the Gunung Sugih Entrepreneurs Consortium in Cilegon. This body unites various community elements, ranging from the sub-district government, the Karang Taruna youth organization, cooperatives, community leaders, to local entrepreneur associations.
The Chairman of the Gunung Sugih Entrepreneurs Consortium, Madsaid, expressed his appreciation for the openness of PT Asahimas Chemical's management. The intensive communication established by the corporation ahead of the annual event is considered to provide certainty for business opportunities that directly impact the economy of surrounding residents.
Echoing this sentiment, the Chairman of the Gunung Sugih Bersama Entrepreneurs Association (PGSB), Ismatullah, along with the Secretary of the Bina Usaha Sejahtera Cooperative, Holil, confirmed the concrete synergy that has taken place. In addition to absorbing local labor and distributing social responsibility (CSR) programs, the local cooperative is once again trusted to supply logistics and consumption needs for project workers.
Youth involvement also plays an important role through Karang Taruna's part in managing the parking area to ensure smooth mobility during maintenance activities. The Acting Head of Gunung Sugih Sub-district, Andi Rustandi, hopes that the existence of this consortium can serve as an effective communication bridge to maximize positive economic impacts for the community.
Representing the management, the General Affairs Manager of PT Asahimas Chemical, Idris Ahmad, emphasized that involving local potential is a corporate priority to minimize environmental impacts while sharing economic benefits. Through one-gate coordination with the consortium, the company is optimistic that the entire factory maintenance sequence can run safely and conductively.
