The Science, Technology, and Environment Committee has officially signed a memorandum of understanding on a cooperation program with Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This strategic collaboration aims to integrate academic expertise into the process of policymaking, lawmaking, and the development of national science and technology (S&T).
This partnership encompasses various crucial aspects, ranging from providing a scientific basis for national decision-making, developing an innovation ecosystem, to digital transformation. Furthermore, both institutions are committed to nurturing quality human resources and building a network of experts who can provide strategic input regarding future challenges.
The President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Professor Le Anh Tuan, stated that his institution is currently transforming into an "innovative university" holding a central role in the value chain of research and the creation of strategic technologies. According to him, this synergy is a right step to bridge legislative needs with practical research application in the field.
Echoing these sentiments, the Chair of the Science, Technology, and Environment Committee, Nguyen Thanh Hai, emphasized the importance of placing innovation as the primary driving force of development. She highlighted that legal policies must be at the forefront of eliminating administrative barriers so that the creative potential of scientists can be fully accommodated.
Furthermore, Nguyen Thanh Hai stressed that regulatory formulation should not be carried out purely theoretically, but must be based on field realities and input from higher education institutions. Both parties agreed to continuously exchange information periodically to support more effective government policy oversight and verification functions in the future.
