Jakarta — The Indonesian Cyber Media Association (SMSI) recently held a strategic meeting at its headquarters on Friday (12/06/2026). The meeting, led directly by the General Chairman of SMSI, Firdaus, focused on mapping the national political constellation and its implications for the sustainability of the digital media industry in the country.
During the briefing session, Firdaus conducted an in-depth mapping of information flows, ranging from global geopolitical dynamics to shifting influences of key figures in Indonesia. This step was taken so that the thousands of cyber media outlets under the SMSI umbrella could have a comprehensive understanding in safeguarding strategic issues, both at the central and regional levels.
"As the largest cyber media organization, we are required to be sharp in reading changes. This mapping is crucial so that all SMSI members in various regions can transform into objective, healthy, and reliable information guides for the wider public," said Firdaus in front of the central management board.
Furthermore, Firdaus emphasized that independence and professionalism are two main pillars that cannot be compromised by media owners or journalists. Sensitivity to strategic issues is considered an absolute requirement for cyber media in today's era of information disruption to remain relevant and maintain high integrity.
