Concrete steps to support the clean energy transition and address the waste problem continue to be pursued by the national industrial sector. PT Asiana Technologies introduces a cutting-edge technological innovation capable of converting municipal solid waste and waste from landfills (TPA) into high-quality alternative fuel, known as refuse-derived fuel (RDF).

CEO and Inventor of PT Asiana Technologies, Poltak Sitinjak, explained that their designed technology is capable of producing RDF with a calorific value exceeding 3,500 kcal/kg. This alternative energy is ready to be supplied as a coal substitute fuel in the cement industry as well as fuel mixing (co-firing) in coal-fired power plants (PLTU). The utilization of this RDF is expected to reduce fossil fuel consumption while providing economic value to waste that was previously worthless.

Not only focusing on energy conversion, the company also released the "Smart Container". This smart containment system with a capacity of up to 20 tons is specifically designed to improve waste management efficiency in densely populated areas such as traditional markets and shopping centers. This container is equipped with technology that reduces the moisture content in wet waste by up to 40 percent, significantly reducing the risk of leachate leakage during transportation to the processing facility.

The reduction in moisture content also makes the waste volume more compact, making transport capacity much more optimal. According to Poltak, the efficiency offered by the Smart Container can significantly cut logistics operational costs because a single smart container unit can replace the role of several conventional waste transport trucks at once.

The public can witness this environmentally friendly waste management technology demonstration firsthand at the Indowaste 2026 exhibition. The event is scheduled to be held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on August 11–13, 2026. Through this participation, PT Asiana Technologies reinforces its commitment to accelerating the adoption of environmentally friendly technology in Indonesia that combines environmental sustainability with circular economy value.
