The tourist area of Canggu, Badung Regency, Bali, which remains lively until the early hours of the morning, has received special attention in maintaining public order and security (kamtibmas). To anticipate potential criminal acts, the Badung Police Sat Samapta regularly conducts night security patrols under the name Blue Light Patrol at several crowded spots, particularly in the nightlife area around Batu Bolong Beach.
The preventive operation, which took place on Monday (27/7/2026) at 01:30 WITA, was led by personnel from the Turjawali Unit of the Badung Police Sat Samapta, including Aiptu I Made Suwardana, Brigadier I Gede Pandu Arya Wirawan, and Brigadier I Putu Gede Wawan Saputra. Using patrol vehicles equipped with body-worn cameras, the officers patrolled high-risk routes to minimize street crime, thuggery, and theft.
In addition to mobile monitoring, the police officers actively engaged in dialogues with private security personnel and local pecalang (traditional Balinese security guards). This persuasive approach aims to build collective awareness in maintaining a conducive environment around nightlife venues, so that any potential security disturbances can be neutralized early on.
Head of the Badung Police Sat Samapta, AKP I Made Mangku Bunciana, representing the Chief of Badung Police, AKBP Joseph Edward Purba, emphasized that the presence of police on the ground during vulnerable hours is a concrete form of police service. The synergy between the police, business operators, pecalang, and local communities is expected to continue maintaining Bali's positive image as a safe and comfortable tourist destination.
The police also urged all elements of society not to hesitate to report suspicious activities that could disturb public order. A quick response to citizen reports will be the key to preventing the escalation of criminal activities within the jurisdiction of the Badung Police.
