Another case of street violence has been uncovered by police officers. Members of the Cimahi Police, together with the Cipatat Police, successfully arrested a robbery suspect identified by the initials AF (27), who had fled to the Sawangan area in Depok after being on the run for three days.
The robbery occurred against a driver for the Lalamove delivery service, identified as IS (48). This criminal act took place in the Gunung Masigit area, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, on Friday night (July 18, 2026).
Cimahi Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Niko N. Adi Putra, explained that the suspect AF is strongly suspected of having meticulously planned this crime. The modus operandi used by the perpetrator was to order a goods transportation service through the Lalamove application from Soekarno-Hatta Street, Bandung City, heading to Gunung Masigit, while carrying a sickle-type sharp weapon (celurit) hidden under his clothes.
Upon arriving at the destination around 8:30 PM WIB, the perpetrator asked the victim to get out on the pretext of helping unload the luggage. As soon as the victim stepped out of the driver's seat, the perpetrator immediately attacked the victim with the sickle, causing lacerations to the victim's abdomen, arm, and head.
Despite being severely injured, the victim managed to save himself. The victim rushed back into the driver's cabin and immediately hit the gas, even hitting the perpetrator before finally fleeing the crime scene to seek help.
Based on the results of an intensive investigation, the Cimahi Police Resmob (Mobile Response) Team and the Cipatat Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to track the perpetrator's location to the Depok area. For his sadistic actions, the suspect is now charged under Article 479 paragraph (2) letter c in conjunction with Article 17 paragraph (1) and paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, carrying a maximum prison sentence of eight years.
