The Palangka Raya City Government, through the Health Office, held an intensive workshop titled Service Excellence specifically aimed at front office staff. The event, which took place on Thursday (7/9/2026), aimed to strengthen standard operating procedures and staff communication competencies as the spearhead of public services in health institutions.
Head of the Palangka Raya City Health Office, H. Riduan, representing the Mayor, emphasized that the public's first impression of government services heavily depends on the initial interaction at the front office. According to him, the quality of an institution is measured not only by the sophistication of its medical facilities, but also by the friendliness, speed, and responsiveness of the staff in serving residents' needs.
"Front office staff are the face of government service. Therefore, they are required to be able to provide fast, precise, and empathetic solutions. Today's public longs for services that are transparent, easily accessible, and user-oriented," Riduan said in his address.
Furthermore, Riduan stressed the importance of equipping workshop participants with communication ethics and problem-solving skills. These skills are considered crucial for staff to handle public complaints wisely while increasing public trust in the entire healthcare ecosystem in Palangka Raya City.
This initiative aligns with the Palangka Raya City Government's vision to produce superior, adaptive, and innovative human resources. Through this training, the government hopes all personnel can carry out their duties with high standards of integrity, so that the public not only receives adequate healthcare services but also feels valued and served wholeheartedly.
