Rumah Sakinah Muhammadiyah Jakarta held a program titled "Ngaji Kesehatan" on Thursday (9/7/2026), centered at the Balai RW 012 hall, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta. This initiative is a form of real community service, addressing the crucial topic of kidney health.
Speaking as a resource person at the event was Siti Nuriyatus Zahrah, a lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine at UPN Veteran Jakarta. The collaboration between Rumah Sakinah Muhammadiyah and the academic community of UPN Veteran aims to provide a practical understanding of the vital organ's function and the risks of diseases that often develop without visible clinical symptoms.
Siti Nuriyatus Zahrah emphasized that many individuals only realize they have kidney disorders when their health condition has reached a severe phase. Therefore, she encouraged the community to disciplinedly implement a healthy lifestyle, such as maintaining adequate water intake, limiting salt consumption, and regularly monitoring blood pressure and blood sugar levels as effective preventive measures.
In addition to lifestyle education, the speaker also reminded residents not to ignore early symptoms such as swelling in the feet, chronic fatigue, or changes in urination patterns. Seeking an immediate medical examination at a health facility is key to early detection efforts to increase the success of future medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Rumah Sakinah Muhammadiyah, Zalnis, emphasized that this program was designed to integrate Islamic values with modern medical literacy. He hopes that this ongoing education will foster collective awareness among residents that maintaining body health is a form of human responsibility and effort (ikhtiar) toward the trust given by God.
The interactive event was met with high enthusiasm from local residents. Through discussion and Q&A sessions, community members were given space to delve deeper into proper diet patterns to the risks of medication consumption, which is expected to serve as knowledge to build a more health-independent and empowered community.
