The Malang Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is proactively increasing public awareness of the potential threat of a Mount Kelud eruption. This step is realized through a field exercise involving synergy between relevant agencies and local residents.
This simulation activity was designed with reference to three fundamental documents, namely the Disaster Emergency Management Plan (RPKB), the Contingency Plan (RenKon), and the Operational Plan (RENOPS). The integration of these documents serves as the technical foundation in facing potential disaster scenarios.
The Vice Regent of Malang, Lathifah Shohib, emphasized the importance of transitioning from mere theoretical understanding to practical action. According to her, preparedness must not stop at a stack of planning documents, but must be implemented through coordination and real action by all elements involved in the field.
