Lam Dong Province is undergoing a strategic transformation by positioning itself as a premier sports tourism hub. Capitalizing on its geographical wealth—spanning majestic mountains, ancient forests, and coastal areas—the region offers vast open spaces for various adventure activities, ranging from trekking and mountain biking to challenging water sports.

Post-merger regional integration has created a "super expansion zone" that enables Lam Dong to host international-scale sporting events. This step is supported by infrastructure readiness capable of accommodating thousands of athletes, as demonstrated by the Dalat Ultra Trail 2026 event, which successfully attracted over 7,000 domestic and international participants.

As a commitment to strengthening this sector, the Lam Dong Provincial Government will host the 2026 Sports Festival from August to September. This event is not merely a physical competition for athletes, but a strategic instrument to promote the region's image, foster cross-sectoral collaboration, and stimulate economic activity by boosting hotel occupancy and tourist spending.

The festival is scheduled to feature more than 10 prestigious sports disciplines, including the National Triathlon Championship and various international golf tournaments. Collaboration between the police and the private sector in organizing the event is expected to create an inclusive sports ecosystem while maintaining safety standards and professionalism throughout the event series.

The local government emphasized that the development of sports tourism is a crucial pillar in diversifying Lam Dong's tourism products. By combining physical fitness, community interaction, and vacation experiences, Lam Dong is optimistic about reinforcing its position on the global tourism map while enhancing the economic welfare of local communities through sustainable tourism empowerment.
