Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) Regency has been officially selected to host the 13th South Kalimantan Provincial Sports Week (Porprov XIII), scheduled to take place in 2029. This strategic decision was made during the Provincial Sports Conference (Musprov) of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of South Kalimantan, held in Banjarmasin on Saturday (4/7/2026).
Responding to this mandate, the Regent of HSU, H. Sahrujani, stated the local government's commitment to repairing and improving the quality of sports facilities in the region. According to him, this step is crucial to ensure that all match events can run with appropriate standards for athletes across South Kalimantan.
Furthermore, Sahrujani emphasized that the local government's main focus at present is to ensure HSU's success as a professional host. He stressed that the goal of being a successful host takes priority over the ambition of winning the overall championship title in the provincial sports event.
With preparations beginning early, the Hulu Sungai Utara Regency Government hopes that the 2029 Porprov XIII event will not only serve as a sports competition, but also as a momentum to boost enthusiasm for sports and the development of public facilities for the local community.
