Kubutambahan District in Buleleng now has a new fitness center accessible to all members of the community free of charge. The facility, named Bale Sparko (Spartan Komando), was officially inaugurated on Saturday (July 4, 2026) in a ceremony attended by members of the district leadership communication forum, traditional leaders, and local residents.

The creation of Bale Sparko was initiated by a native of the area, Infantry Colonel Eka Wira Dharmawan, widely known as the founder of the SPARKO community. This facility was designed not only as a physical training center, but also as a public space to foster discipline and a healthy lifestyle among village residents.

The Perbekel (village head) of Kubutambahan expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and real contribution provided by Colonel Eka Wira to his hometown. Echoing this sentiment, the local Bendesa Adat (traditional village chief) emphasized the importance of the community's role in maintaining this facility so that its benefits can continue to be enjoyed by future generations over the long term.

Colonel Eka Wira emphasized that Bale Sparko is the fruit of collaboration among various parties, ranging from the village government and community leaders to support from friends. For him, this initiative is the embodiment of the philosophy “Membangun Raga, Merawat Menyama Braya” (Building the Body, Nurturing Brotherhood), which stresses that physical health must go hand in hand with strong bonds of brotherhood.

The inauguration event was also enlivened by *pull-up* and *chinning* competitions attended by participants from various backgrounds, ranging from students to the general public. Looking ahead, the founder hopes that the Bale Sparko concept can be replicated in other regions across Bali, thereby expanding access to inclusive sports spaces and deeply rooting a healthy lifestyle culture within society.
