The Banda Aceh Municipal Government has taken a strategic step by redeveloping the land of the former Keudah Terminal to repurpose it into a public open space, as well as an integrated business and transportation hub. This revitalization effort is expected to optimize one of the high-value regional assets and open up wider investment opportunities.
The Head of the Banda Aceh Transportation Agency, Syaifuddin Ambia, explained that the development planning for this area is actually not new. The mixed-land-use concept for the former Keudah Terminal has been designed since 2015. However, its realization was delayed because no investor met the criteria set by the municipal government.
With the start of this initial arrangement, the Banda Aceh Municipal Government hopes to attract the right business partners to develop the area. This project is projected not only to beautify urban planning but also to become a new driver for economic growth and transportation integration in Banda Aceh.
