The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has once again taken decisive action in efforts to eradicate corruption through a Red-Handed Operation (OTT). This time, the anti-corruption agency secured the Regent of Langkat, Syah Afandin, in an operation that has been underway since Thursday (2/7/2026) night.
The news of this arrest was confirmed by KPK Deputy Chairman, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, when questioned by reporters on Friday (3/7/2026). However, the KPK has not yet provided further details regarding the specific case underlying the arrest.
As of now, the relevant authorities are keeping details strictly confidential regarding the number of other individuals detained in this covert operation.
