Changan officially introduced the Deepal S05 to the Indonesian automotive market, an electrified SUV offering high flexibility for its users. The vehicle comes with two technology options: Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV), designed to address charging infrastructure challenges for drivers in the country.
CEO of Changan Indonesia, Setiawan Surya, emphasized that the presence of the REEV variant is a strategic move by the company alongside Indomobil Group. This technology enables a 1,500 cc gasoline engine to function as a battery-charging generator, providing peace of mind for car owners during long journeys without having to rely entirely on electric charging stations.
In terms of performance, the REEV variant is equipped with a 160 kW electric motor and 320 Nm of torque, capable of reaching a combined range of up to 1,100 kilometers. Meanwhile, the BEV variant uses a 56.12 kWh LFP battery capable of traveling up to 470 kilometers on a single full charge. Both are built on the EPA1 platform, which prioritizes balanced weight distribution and driving comfort through a rear-wheel drive (RWD) system.
Beyond its mechanical excellence, the Deepal S05 offers premium interior comfort with a 15.4-inch 2.5K resolution Sunflower Screen and Royal Comfort seats. Safety features are also a priority with the inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), including an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR-HUD) that helps drivers monitor crucial information without taking their eyes off the road.
With a 'Symbiotic Aesthetics' exterior design that has earned international recognition, the Deepal S05 highlights not only functionality and efficiency, but also modern aesthetics. The combination of comprehensive safety features, such as six airbags, ESP, and 'Golden Shield' battery technology, makes this SUV a strong contender in the national electrified vehicle segment.
