The municipality of Cormeilles-en-Parisis, in the Val-d'Oise region, has officially decided to cancel the fireworks display originally scheduled for July 13, 2024. The decision was taken following a decree issued by the local prefecture prohibiting the use of fireworks in the area as a mitigation measure against potential fire hazards.
Although the pyrotechnic show has been cancelled, the organizers assured that other events celebrating La Fête Nationale will proceed as planned. Residents can still enjoy the National Day festivities, which commemorate the historic storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789.
On the other hand, for the 2026 National Day celebration scheduled for July 14 in the Émy-les-Prés area, the municipality has prepared a more comprehensive entertainment lineup. Starting at 2:00 PM, the area will feature various family-friendly activities, ranging from amusement rides and inflatable structures for children to food stalls and fairground games.
