Dak Lak province is currently formulating a new direction in the regional development map. Through a scientific conference entitled "Dak Lak in a New Era: Strategic Positioning - Creating Momentum - Breakthrough Development", stakeholders along with academics are striving to align regional development philosophy with the demands of a more inclusive and environmentally friendly era.
Associate Professor Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized the importance for Dak Lak to identify specific competitive advantages. The primary focus is directed toward leveraging a strategic geoeconomic location, developing a high value-added agricultural sector, and strengthening logistics connectivity. This step is considered crucial to creating a domino effect for more massive economic growth.
Echoing this sentiment, economist Dr. Can Van Luc stressed the need for a transformation in the growth model. He suggested that Dak Lak shift from reliance on raw materials toward an economy based on deep processing industries, clean energy, and governance digitalization. Inter-regional economic integration is key so that resource potential can be managed efficiently without policy overlap.
The role of technology and innovation also took center stage in the discussion. Harnessing digital transformation is viewed as a main accelerator in improving the investment climate. This effort was positively received by the Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, who committed to building a more transparent and service-oriented government.
The provincial government promised to materialize these scientific recommendations into concrete action programs. The main focus moving forward is to create a conducive business environment, where public satisfaction and private sector progress become key indicators of governance success in the Dak Lak region.
