Bangkok Bank and Permata Bank have reaffirmed their strategic role in facilitating the expansion of Thai businesses into the Indonesian market. This step was realized through the hosting of the Indonesia Investment & Trade Forum 2026, providing a platform for investors to explore potential sectoral opportunities in the country.

Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich stated that Indonesia remains a primary investment destination in Southeast Asia. According to him, Indonesia's appeal lies in a unique combination of a large population exceeding 270 million, stable economic growth around 5 percent, and promising prospects in manufacturing, energy, and the digital economy.

As concrete support, Bangkok Bank collaborates with Permata Bank's extensive network, which now spans more than 81 cities across Indonesia. The support provided is not limited to financing services, but includes strategic advisory, local partner search, and business consulting services for Thai companies seeking to navigate the domestic market's regulatory dynamics.

This optimism aligns with national investment achievements throughout 2025, which reached Rp1,900 trillion, surpassing the government's target. Permata Bank President Director Meliza M. Rusli stated that Indonesia's economic resilience amid global uncertainty has boosted foreign investor confidence, including from the Asian region.

The forum was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, Hari Prabowo, and the Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, Prapan Disyatat. This meeting is expected to strengthen economic integration in the ASEAN region while opening doors for deeper collaboration between domestic industry players and investors from the Land of White Elephants.
