Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) has once again realized its commitment to community service by empowering the popular economy sector in Cipinang Village, East Jakarta. A team of lecturers from the Graduate School and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNJ held a strategic training session to equip Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt to modern market needs.

The event, which took place in the Gang Asoka V area, focused on two main pillars: optimizing digital marketing through the TikTok Business platform and strengthening financial accountability. A total of 16 business owners from various sectors, ranging from culinary to fashion, received direct mentoring to design creative content strategies while improving business bookkeeping governance, which is often neglected.

Prof. Dedi Purwana ES., head of the service team, emphasized that the integration of digital literacy and financial management is the main key for MSMEs to grow independently. According to him, the utilization of technology without the support of orderly financial records will not yield a sustainable business impact. Conversely, neat financial reports can boost business credibility in the eyes of formal financing institutions.

The evaluation results of the event showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, with an average score increase of 23.5 percent. The digital marketing sector recorded the highest surge in understanding at 30 percent. Participants now not only understand how to operate business account features but have also begun consistently applying the practice of separating personal assets from business finances.

This program is a tangible step by UNJ in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly regarding economic growth and poverty alleviation. As a follow-up, the service team is committed to continuing to mentor the business owners through the formation of a fostered community to ensure that the professional transformation taught remains maintained and provides a long-term impact on the local economy.
