Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut Region has reaffirmed its support for the growth of the grassroots economy through its strategic initiative, 'Go Global Academy'. The two-day training program held in Pekanbaru from June 29 to 30, 2026, was specifically designed to equip assisted partners with the necessary competencies to compete in international markets.

A total of 10 selected MSMEs operating in the culinary and creative economy sectors participated in the training series. The program involved an academic collaboration with Universitas Riau to provide comprehensive subject matter depth, ranging from product standardization, legalities, and branding strategies to in-depth insights into ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards and customs procedures.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut Region, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, emphasized that this initiative is not merely technical training, but a crucial step in strengthening the business foundation of their assisted partners. In addition to classroom sessions, participants were granted direct access to business clinics to consult with industry experts on operational challenges they face.

Business owners, such as the owners of Laksamana Snack and Permata Food, welcomed the initiative positively. They acknowledged that Pertamina's continuous guidance has significantly impacted product quality improvement and provided modern managerial knowledge, motivating them to export local products abroad.

This concrete step by Pertamina aligns with the company's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly regarding economic growth and decent work creation. It is hoped that by strengthening their capacity, Pertamina's fostered MSMEs can become resilient economic drivers while promoting Indonesia's pride products on the global stage.
