The Deputy Chief of Langsa Resort Police (Wakapolres), Police Commissioner (Kompol) Yasir, presented awards and consolation prizes to the winners of the feature writing contest organized by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Langsa City. The presentation of these accolades took place in a warm atmosphere at Noka Dining and Coffee on Tuesday evening (July 28, 2026).

This writing competition is part of a series of Journalist Capacity Building Training sessions previously held in Bukit Lawang, Bahorok District, North Sumatra, from July 24 to 26. In the contest, Hengki Syah Jaya was named the most favorite winner, while consolation prizes were given to four other journalists, namely Ray Iskandar, Syafrul, Munawar, and Rapian.

In his speech, Kompol Yasir expressed his highest appreciation to the members of the press who actively participated in this competency improvement activity. He hopes that their dedication and continuously honed writing skills will produce quality journalistic works that benefit the wider community.

The Chairman of PWI Langsa City, Putra Zulfirman, explained that this contest aims to train journalists' sensitivity and ability to capture and package the dynamics of the training into in-depth feature writing. He also expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of PWI Aceh, Nasir Nurdin, for supporting the prizes, and the Chairman of KIP Aceh, Agusni AH, who acted as the jury in determining the winners.

Through this activity, PWI Langsa City is committed to maintaining synergy and strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, including the police force. This collaborative step is expected to foster a healthy, professional, and high-integrity press climate in the Langsa City area.
