Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, emphasized that the music-based tourism sector, or music tourism, has now become a crucial pillar in the national tourism development roadmap. According to her, hosting global-scale concerts is not merely entertainment, but a strategic instrument capable of driving economic growth while strengthening Indonesia's position on the international stage.

This statement came in response to the planned concert of South Korean pop group BTS, which will be held in Jakarta. The government views this momentum as a golden opportunity to prove Indonesia's infrastructure readiness and hospitality in hosting various world-class events.

Widiyanti explained that the presence of a music group with a massive fan base like BTS has an appeal that can reach the younger generation, creative communities, and foreign tourists. This is considered in line with the government's efforts to build Indonesia's image as a safe, creative, and competitive tourist destination globally.

Furthermore, the government is committed to continuing to support the staging of other international-scale events. This step is expected not only to provide a direct economic impact on the tourism and services industries, but also to boost the global community's confidence in Indonesia as a premier destination for major events in the future.
