The Badung Regency Government has officially declared its commitment to integrating the sports sector with tourism, known as sport tourism. This strategic move was taken as an effort to diversify tourism products so that Badung maintains a competitive appeal in the eyes of global tourists.
The Regent of Badung, Adi Arnawa, emphasized that the development of sport tourism is one of the future development priorities. By taking advantage of continuously improved infrastructure, the region is considered to have great potential to host various national and international sports events capable of attracting thousands of visitors.
Furthermore, this initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy. The presence of sporting events not only promotes top tourist destinations but also directly drives the hospitality, culinary, and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sectors spread across Badung Regency.
The local government is currently drawing up a roadmap and preparing adequate supporting facilities to realize this vision. Collaboration between tourism stakeholders and sports communities continues to be strengthened to ensure every held event runs professionally and provides a memorable experience for participants and spectators.
