The second series of the Rosiade Padel Tournament successfully drew significant attention from the nation's sports community. Held at Crown Padel Alam Sutera, South Tangerang on Saturday (4/7/2026), the tournament served as clear proof of the public's growing interest in the increasingly popular sport of padel.
Andre Rosiade, as the organizer, expressed his optimism that padel is no longer just an upper-class sport. According to him, the proliferation of court facilities across various regions automatically lowers rental costs, making the sport vastly more accessible to all segments of society.
"We want to support PBPI so that padel develops into a people's sport. Padel has now transformed into a family-friendly activity where multiple generations—from grandparents to grandchildren—can participate and gather together over the weekend," Andre said on the sidelines of the event.
High enthusiasm was evident from the number of registrants, which reached 1,100 people, despite this tournament's capacity being limited to just 260 participants. As a token of appreciation, the committee charged no registration fee and provided total prizes worth tens of millions of rupiah for the winners.
More than just a competition, this tournament also serves as a strategic partner for the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI) in talent mapping. Andre added that this collaboration will continue next August, focusing on the development of junior athletes being prepared for Asia-Pacific events.
