The Attorney General's Office, through its Deputy Attorney General for Extraordinary Crimes (JAM PIDSUS) investigative team, has officially designated a National Nutrition Agency (BGN) official with the initials LMI as a suspect. This legal action was taken after investigators found sufficient preliminary evidence regarding alleged corruption in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
According to official statements, LMI allegedly abused their position to manipulate the verification process for prospective partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). The modus operandi involved requiring prospective partners to purchase tableware, specifically food trays, from a designated pre-conditioned company, namely PT SGI.
Investigators explained that the suspect allegedly instructed a third party to establish the company as a means to reap personal profit. Prospective partners willing to purchase tableware from the company were then given ease in the verification process until they passed the MBG portal system. Payment transactions were reported periodically to the suspect as part of an unlawful profit-making scheme.
For these actions, the suspect LMI is charged under the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with the Criminal Code. To facilitate further investigation, the prosecutorial authorities decided to detain LMI at the Salemba Detention Center branch of the South Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office for the next 20 days.
This case has drawn sharp public scrutiny, considering that the Free Nutritious Meal Program is a strategic government initiative aimed at improving the nutritional health of children and vulnerable groups. The Attorney General's Office emphasized that the legal process will proceed accountably and transparently to maintain the integrity of the government program.
