The Regency Government of Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan, expressed its full commitment to ensuring the success of the 25th Kalimantan Evangelical Church (GKE) General Synod, scheduled to take place from July 7 to 11, 2026, in Puruk Cahu, Murung Raya Regency. As a tangible form of support, 112 official delegates were dispatched from Kuala Kurun on Monday (7/6/2026).
Regent of Gunung Mas, Jaya S. Monong, who also serves as Chairman of the GKE Synod Council Representative for Gunung Mas, emphasized the importance of this five-year agenda. One of the crucial points in the meeting is the election of the new General Chairman of the GKE Synod Council. He urged all voting participants to exercise their rights wisely, in a spirit of fellowship and spiritual integrity.
"Whoever is elected must be fully supported as God's will. Differences in choice are natural, but unity and togetherness in church ministry must remain the top priority," said Jaya S. Monong during the send-off ceremony.
In addition to sending delegates, the Gunung Mas Regency Government is playing a strategic role as a transit hub for synod participants from various regions, including West Kalimantan. The administration welcomes out-of-town contingents needing a resting place during their journey to or from Puruk Cahu.
Chairman of the Daily Executive Board of the GKE Kuala Kurun Resort, Rev. Dein G. Narang, added that his party has prepared accommodations for participants who wish to transit. According to him, this collaboration between the local government and the church is a concrete manifestation of support for religious life and the smooth running of GKE's major agenda. To date, several groups from West Kalimantan have utilized these transit facilities to rest in Kuala Kurun before continuing their journey to the venue.
