PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) successfully held the Jakarta Sky Fun Run (JSFR) 2026 on the Corridor 13 Elevated Route on Sunday (12/7). The event, which was joined by more than 5,000 participants, was not only a sporting event for capital city residents but also served as a pilot model for green events by thoroughly integrating sustainability principles.
In its execution, Transjakarta collaborated with the waste management platform Duitin starting from the pre-event phase. This partnership successfully collected 138.1 kilograms of sorted waste. The President Director of PT Transjakarta, Welfizon Yuza, explained that this tactical step contributed to energy savings of 467 kWh, reduced space pressure in landfills, and prevented the release of 296 kilograms of CO2 equivalent into the atmosphere.
Efforts to minimize environmental impact continued on the day of the event. Through a partnership with BALIKIN, the organizers provided 10.000 reusable cups at every hydration station. This initiative successfully cut the use of approximately 93.4 kilograms of single-use plastic cups while eliminating potential carbon emissions of 17,700 kilograms of CO2. This emission reduction is equivalent to charging 16,500 smartphones or a motorcycle trip covering more than 156,000 kilometers.
In addition to offering a unique running route, JSFR 2026, themed "(Born Y2K) – Running Into Tomorrow," also featured interactive education in the form of a waste-sorting competition (SPOGOMI) in the Race Village area. This green commitment was further reinforced through a partnership with Carbon Ethics, where the sale of every two tickets was converted into one tree seedling. As a result, 2,000 mangrove seedlings are ready to be planted to restore the coastal ecosystems of the Indonesian archipelago.
After all activities concluded, the management of remaining waste in the Race Village area was handed over to Rekosistem using an integrated waste management method. The Environmental Agency of DKI Jakarta Province also enlivened the event by engaging local MSMEs producing eco-friendly goods, as part of a circular economy campaign and zero-waste lifestyle.
Welfizon emphasized that through JSFR 2026, Transjakarta wants to prove that public transportation development is not limited to corridor service improvements alone. Modern transportation innovations must run in harmony with digital transformation and the implementation of sustainability principles that bring real positive impacts to the quality of people's lives and environmental conservation.
