The Ancol beach area in North Jakarta will become the center of attention in the water sports world on August 19-23, 2026. The prestigious event titled Indonesia Jetsport World Series 2026 is scheduled to take place involving athletes from 30 to 40 countries, including the United States, Russia, China, Japan, as well as several countries in the Middle East and Europe.
President of the Indonesia Jetsport Boating Association (PP IJBA), Syaiful Ihsan Sutan Aswar, emphasized that this championship is not just an ordinary water racing competition. The event is designed to bring together world champions while serving as a strategic instrument to promote sport tourism and drive the local economy through business interaction and sponsor activation.
To ensure international standards are met, organizers are currently accelerating renovations in the Ancol area. The main focus of the upgrades includes reorganizing the beach area and adding adequate paddock facilities to accommodate large athletic delegations. These efforts are being made so that the venue infrastructure can handle the targeted participation of dozens of countries.
Regarding broadcasting, IJBA has established a strategic partnership with NEP Middle East & Asia, appointed as the Official Host Broadcaster. This collaboration aims to ensure that world-class broadcast production can be distributed globally, allowing international audiences to watch the competition with international-standard visual quality.
Syaiful hopes this event will serve as a proving ground for Indonesian jetski athletes to compete against big names in the water sports world. With top-notch facilities and thorough preparation, organizers are optimistic that Indonesia will not only host the event successfully, but also achieve stellar accomplishments in front of its home crowd.
