The long wait of the people of Kerinci Regency for a more representative healthcare facility has finally reached a turning point. The Governor of Jambi, Al Haris, alongside the Acting Regent of Kerinci, Monadi, symbolically laid the first stone for the construction of the Kerinci Regency Regional General Hospital (RSUD) located in the Bukit Tengah area, Siulak District, on Sunday (5/7/2026).
This project is not just a physical infrastructure development, but a strategic step by the regional government to end dependence on healthcare services outside the region. The presence of this hospital is expected to serve as a modern medical service hub that can be accessed more quickly and with higher quality by all segments of society in Kerinci Regency.
Acting Regent of Kerinci, Monadi, revealed that the start of this project is the result of intensive coordination with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the long-term dedication of the regional government in completing planning documents and feasibility visits. For him, investment in the health sector is the primary foundation for sustainably improving the standard of living and welfare of the community.
Echoing this sentiment, the Governor of Jambi, Al Haris, ensured the Provincial Government's commitment to overseeing the completion of this construction. The support provided includes the integration of infrastructure, provision of state-of-the-art medical equipment, and the preparation of competent human resources, including adding specialist doctors to ensure the hospital runs at maximum capacity.
For information, this hospital is planned to transition from a Type D Pratama to a Type C hospital. This status upgrade is expected to expand the scope of medical services and address the healthcare needs of the community, which have often been constrained by distance and the limitations of referral health facilities at the local level.
