The South Tangerang City Government is shifting the healthcare paradigm by prioritizing health promotion and preventive efforts rather than focusing solely on curative treatment. This strategic step is being realized through the reinforcement of the Ngider Sehat Premium program, designed to detect disease risks early through routine medical check-ups and community education.
Mayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, emphasized that the presence of medical teams, now supported by specialist doctors, aims to break down access barriers for vulnerable groups. This program targets the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and individuals with limited mobility who have previously faced challenges in reaching healthcare facilities such as community health centers (Puskesmas) or hospitals.
Through an active outreach (door-to-door) system, the local government aims to ensure that health services are not confined to medical facility buildings. With doctors joining the Ngider Sehat Premium team, residents now gain convenient access to comprehensive clinical check-ups directly from their own homes.
Beyond providing medical care, this program serves as a crucial instrument for monitoring the rising trends of non-communicable diseases in the South Tangerang region. With earlier detection, it is hoped that the severity of diseases can be mitigated while boosting public awareness about the importance of a clean and healthy lifestyle in daily life.
