Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, festivities are starting to be felt by residents across Tangerang City. One of the main highlights drawing public attention is the Inter-Subdistrict Team Badminton Tournament in Cipondoh, also known as the 2026 Sub-district Head Cup (Piala Camat).
The event, held at the Kampung ATM Badminton Court on Saturday night (11/7/2026), was officially opened by the Mayor of Tangerang, H. Sachrudin. In his remarks, he expressed high appreciation for the community's initiative to use sports as a bridge to strengthen familial bonds among urban village residents.
Furthermore, Sachrudin emphasized that the main essence of this competition is not merely chasing the champion title. He urged all participants to use this tournament as a platform to strengthen brotherhood. According to him, winning is an added bonus, but sportsmanship and the spirit of mutual cooperation are far more valuable achievements for the community.
The Tangerang City Government is fully committed to facilitating various sports activities to foster a healthy and productive society. Sachrudin believes that community involvement in sports can shape a disciplined, resilient character with a never-give-up mindset.
Closing his address, Tangerang's first citizen expressed high hopes that this tournament could serve as a proving ground for young athletes. He remains optimistic that through consistent development, Cipondoh District will be able to produce talented badminton prospects who can eventually bring honor to the city on a broader stage.
