The US stock market, Wall Street, recorded positive performance in Thursday's trading (9/7/2026). This gain was led by the technology sector, responding to renewed optimism over the prospects of the chip and artificial intelligence (AI) industries.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed up 0.27 percent at 52,487.41. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index recorded a gain of 0.81 percent to 7,543.64, and the Nasdaq composite index surged 1.3 percent to reach 26,206.89.

The main market sentiment was triggered by a massive investment plan from Micron Technology of US$250 billion until 2035. This strategic move aims to meet the high demand for memory chips for artificial intelligence needs, which subsequently pushed the company's stock price up by 4.5 percent. A similar trend was also seen in Applied Materials and SanDisk, which rose 3.2 percent and 7.6 percent, respectively.

In addition to semiconductor issuers, other technology giants such as Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon also recorded gains amid investor optimism. In the commodity market, gold futures on COMEX rose 1.4 percent to US$4,140.8 per ounce, following a 0.1 percent decline in the US dollar index.

A similar condition occurred in the European market, where the STOXX 600 index rose 0.8 percent, also driven by the recovery of technology sector stocks. Although the FTSE 100 index in London experienced a slight correction of 0.16 percent, other major indices such as the Dax 30 in Germany, Ibex 35 in Spain, and Cac 40 in France all recorded gains at the end of the trading session.
