The Attorney General's Junior Commissioner for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, has finally issued an official clarification regarding speculations circulating on social media. He firmly denied any personal connection between himself and the cafe business in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, which was recently searched by police officers.
In a press conference held at the Gedung Bundar, Jakarta, on Friday (10/7/2026), Febrie emphasized that he has no interest or involvement in the business in question. He chose to respond to the rumors calmly and expressed his support for the independence of the investigation currently being conducted by the National Police (Polri).
Febrie also emphasized that the Attorney General's Office, particularly the Jampidsus division, is committed to respecting every law enforcement procedure carried out by the police. He asked the public to wait patiently for the official results of the investigation to avoid the spread of misleading information in the digital sphere.
This statement follows the aggressive action of the joint team of the National Police's Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), which conducted searches at 12 different locations on Wednesday (8/7/2026). The operation was carried out to investigate three major corruption cases involving the energy sector related to PT PLN, systemic cases at PT Asabri and PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, as well as a debt dispute involving a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel.
The sweeps targeting commercial objects such as cafes and money changers are strongly suspected to be part of an asset tracing strategy related to alleged money laundering offenses. Given the sensitivity of the cases, transparency in this legal process is crucial for the public to maintain objectivity and integrity among law enforcement agencies in Indonesia.
