The slopes of Mount Semeru in Senduro District, Lumajang, East Java, were crowded with thousands of Hindus attending prayers at Pura Mandhara Giri Semeru Agung on Saturday (4/7/2026). Among the crowd, the delegation from the Tabanan Regency Government drew public attention by bringing a full turnout, ranging from Regent I Komang Gede Sanjaya and legislative members to village heads.
This Bhakti Penganyar activity is not merely an annual ritual for the Tabanan Regency Government. Regent Sanjaya emphasized that the presence of such a large delegation is a form of spiritual devotion and an effort to preserve the tradition of "ngayah"—a philosophy of sincere service that maintains the balance between the sekala (worldly) and niskala (spiritual) aspects outside the island of Bali.
The sacred atmosphere became even more palpable when the Chairperson of the Tabanan Regency TP PKK, Mrs. Rai Wahyuni Sanjaya, led the performance of the Rejang Tridatu Dance. Clad in solemn traditional Balinese attire, the dance served as a manifestation of gratitude as well as the preservation of ancestral cultural heritage that continues to be safeguarded by the regional government wherever they are.
In his remarks, Regent Sanjaya stated that the enthusiasm of the Tabanan Regency Government officials to attend was a calling of the soul. According to him, the development of a region relies not only on physical and economic aspects alone, but also on a strong spiritual foundation to build sustainable social harmony.
Appreciation for the consistency of the Tabanan Regency Government came from the Chairman of PHDI Lumajang Regency, Teguh Widodo. He assessed the delegation from Tabanan as one of the most complete and disciplined regional government groups from Bali in carrying out religious duties at the temple. This activity also serves as a bridge to strengthen the bond of brotherhood among Hindus throughout the archipelago.
