Chery is highly suspected of preparing to introduce the latest version of its flagship premium SUV, the Tiggo 9. This indication emerged after the industrial design documents for the facelift model were officially registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia on July 7, 2026.
Significant visual changes are visible on the vehicle's front face. The front grille now appears more aggressive with bold vertical slats, combined with a slimmer headlight design, giving a modern and futuristic aura compared to the previous generation. Meanwhile, at the rear, Chery has refreshed the bumper design and taillight layout, including the license plate position, which has now been moved to the bumper area.
One aspect that draws the most attention is the presence of a bump on the front roof of the car, which is strongly suspected to be a LiDAR module. The presence of this advanced sensor signals a major upgrade in active safety features. LiDAR technology is known for providing road condition scanning accuracy that is far more precise than conventional camera or radar systems, supporting more advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features.
Despite some aesthetic similarities with the Jaecoo brand's design language on the front end, the 'CHERY' emblem still attached to the rear reinforces the model's identity. This design registration in Indonesia serves as a strong signal that the Chinese manufacturer is serious about expanding its high-tech vehicle portfolio in the domestic automotive market.
