The Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan (Pemprov Kalteng) has reaffirmed its commitment to building high-quality human resources by strengthening the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS). This strategic step was implemented through a socialization event titled 'Healthy, Fit, and Cheerful Civil Servants for an Increasingly Blessed Central Kalimantan' (Kalteng Semakin Berkah), held at the Eka Hapakat Hall, Governor's Office, on Thursday (2/7/2026).
Assistant for Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat of Central Kalimantan, Anang Dirjo, representing the Acting Regional Secretary, emphasized that health is the primary foundation of regional development. According to him, a healthy lifestyle must start with behavioral changes, including routine physical activity, balanced nutrition, and regular health checkups. This is viewed as a long-term investment to create a more productively competitive society.
On this occasion, the crucial role of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) as the spearhead and role model for the community was also highlighted. Civil servants in prime physical and mental condition are considered capable of executing government duties and delivering public services in a more optimal and adaptive manner. Therefore, a culture of healthy living within the bureaucracy is a priority that must be consistently internalized.
Head of the Welfare Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Central Kalimantan, Rus'ansyah, explained that this event equipped participants with a deep understanding of the implementation of GERMAS regulations, the importance of mental health, and access to free health screenings. Cross-sector synergy from the provincial to the regency/city levels is a critical point to ensure this movement reaches all levels of society.
The socialization event was also attended by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of regional departments, and representatives from related agencies across Central Kalimantan. Through strong collaboration, the government hopes this effort will foster a sustainable ecosystem of healthy living to realize the vision of a more advanced and prosperous Central Kalimantan.
