PT OCBC NISP Tbk now officially facilitates bilateral transaction services allowing clients to make direct payments using the local currencies of partner countries, namely the UAE Dirham (AED), Thai Baht (THB), and South Korean Won (KRW). This innovation is designed to eliminate intermediary conversion processes previously considered inefficient for business actors.

This strategic move is taken as tangible support for Indonesian entrepreneurs targeting the Middle Eastern and Asian markets. By using local currencies, clients are expected to enjoy a much simpler, more efficient transaction process, while benefiting from more competitive exchange rates compared to conventional conversion methods.

Head of Transaction Banking OCBC, Gianto Kusno, emphasized that flexibility is a priority in this service. Business clients can access the service not only offline at branch offices, but also through the OCBC Business digital platform. This ease of access enables companies to manage cash flow and cross-border transactions more precisely anytime and anywhere.

This new service can be utilized across various business account segments, ranging from Giro Business Smart and Giro Business Signature to Giro Multicurrency. The addition of these new currency options is expected to bolster the competitiveness of Indonesian exporters and importers in international markets, while minimizing the risk of exchange rate fluctuations common in global currency transactions.

Through this foreign currency portfolio expansion, OCBC is optimistic about helping clients gain greater confidence in conducting global business expansion. Management believes that fast, digitized banking access is the key to winning trade competition in the modern economic era.
