The South Sulawesi Provincial Government is actively encouraging the participation of the younger generation to make sports an integral part of their daily routine. This step is taken as a strategic effort to produce individuals who are not only physically healthy but also possess disciplined, creative, and productive characters to help build the region.
Head of the South Sulawesi Youth and Sports Department (Dispora), Suherman, conveyed this message on the sidelines of the "Bola Gembira" (Happy Football) Joint Viewing event held in Makassar on Sunday (12/7/2026). He emphasized that the provincial government has a strong commitment to advancing the sports sector as one of the driving forces of community development.
Furthermore, Suherman expressed his hope that South Sulawesi could host various national-scale sporting events. Increasing the intensity of competitions and sports festivals is believed to act as a catalyst in recruiting potential talents who can eventually make the nation proud in both national and international arenas.
On the same occasion, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government also appreciated the role of the media, especially TVRI South Sulawesi. The educational and entertainment content presented is considered highly effective in strengthening social bonds, fostering unity, and cultivating a love for sports among the wider community.
