Deputy Regent of Tangerang, Intan Nurul Hikmah, emphasized the importance of building a healthy lifestyle for all levels of society. The appeal was made directly in front of thousands of residents while attending a mass gymnastics event titled "Tangerang Semakin Gemilang" held in Pasar Kemis District on Sunday (12/7/2026).
The event, initiated by the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Tangerang Regency, was not merely a physical fitness gathering. In her speech, Intan explained that recreational sports play a vital role in improving mental health, triggering happiness hormones, and maintaining residents' stamina to stay productive in their daily routines.
In addition to the health aspect, this event also served as momentum to foster social bonds among residents. According to Intan, community-based sports are an effective means to strengthen friendship and build positive interactions within the Tangerang community.
Complementing the series of events, the local government collaborated with the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Tangerang Regency to facilitate a voluntary blood donation drive. The Deputy Regent specifically appealed to residents who meet the health requirements to contribute.
"A single drop of blood we donate is a tangible form of care for our brothers and sisters in need. Let us make this a beneficial habit for others," said Intan.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Jubertinus, added that this event was designed to raise public awareness about the importance of physical and spiritual health. The excitement of the event concluded with the distribution of various attractive prizes for participants, ranging from electronic devices to electric motorcycles, which were enthusiastically received by the attending residents.
