The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) is actively encouraging all higher education institutions in Indonesia to generate concrete innovations based on science and technology. This effort aims to ensure that academic research does not merely become scientific documents, but real solutions that directly improve the welfare and quality of life of the community.

Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto emphasized the importance of repositioning campuses as epicenters of civilizational progress. In his official statement in Jakarta, he underlined that the tridharma (three pillars) of higher education—specifically research and community service—must be aligned with the real needs of society, the industrial sector, and the direction of government policies.

"We want to echo the Impactful Campus movement. The academic environment must become a center of clear change that brings benefits to the surrounding area," said Brian. Through this movement, the academic community is expected to contribute their expertise to address various national development challenges.

One concrete manifestation of this initiative is reflected in the concern for environmental sustainability. Brian gave special appreciation to Diponegoro University (Undip) for their success in managing the Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST), which is deemed successful in integrating science and technology in sustainable waste management.

He hopes that Undip's TPST can expand its service capacity to assist the Tembalang area and educate local residents in waste sorting. According to Brian, complex environmental issues cannot be resolved partially, but require multidisciplinary collaboration involving social engineering, biological aspects, and engineering disciplines.
