The Ponorogo Regency Government has once again established a strategic collaboration with IPB University through the Thematic Community Service (KKNT) program. The arrival of 117 IPB students, welcomed directly by the Acting Regent of Ponorogo, Lisdyarita, on Monday (6/7/2025), marks the fourth year of sustainable synergy between the two parties.
Lisdyarita expressed her appreciation for the tangible contributions made by IPB students to the local food sector. One highlighted innovation is the development of packaging technology for Ponorogo's signature chicken satay. Thanks to the students' research, the shelf life of this iconic culinary dish can now last up to one month, significantly longer than conventional products that only last a few days.
Furthermore, the Acting Regent, affectionately known as Bunda Lis, expressed hope that this year's program will bring about new breakthroughs in agriculture and MSME development. She emphasized that technology transfer is key for local farmers and livestock breeders to increase the added value of their products in a broader market.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at IPB, Slamet Budiyanto, stressed that student involvement does not focus solely on academics. He instructed his students to treat the local community as collaborative partners in identifying regional potential while formulating solutions to regional development challenges.
This synergy is expected to become an engine for the local economy through the application of practical science and technology. By treating the community as subjects of development, it is hoped that every program carried out during the KKNT period will have a sustainable impact on the welfare of the Ponorogo people.
