Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has once again strengthened its international presence through a community service program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Three academics from UMY conducted entrepreneurship training for Norol Iman High School students, aiming to instill a business spirit from an early age and equip them with practical skills relevant to today's global economic challenges.
The hybrid event featured three experts: Sutrisno Wibowo, S.E., M.M., Dr. Punang Amaripuja, S.E., S.T., M.I.T., and Dr. Lalu Supardin, S.E., M.M. During the training session, Sutrisno Wibowo dissected the *Business Model Canvas* (BMC) framework as a tool for students to systematically design business ideas, ranging from customer segment mapping to efficient cost structures.
Meanwhile, Dr. Punang Amaripuja emphasized the urgency of building a resilient entrepreneurial character through the topic *The Entrepreneurial Spirit*. According to him, instilling an entrepreneurial mindset in Cambodia's youth is a strategic step so they do not merely become job seekers, but are capable of creating jobs by leveraging local wisdom potential.
Norol Iman High School students welcomed this initiative with high enthusiasm, as seen in their active participation in discussions and presentations of creative business ideas. Through this program, UMY hopes to contribute to nurturing innovative young Cambodian entrepreneurs while strengthening cross-border educational cooperation in the Southeast Asian region.
